Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Now feeling trapped in a world of proper etiquette for one such as herself, Alice is taken to a garden party, where it is hoped that she will accept a marriage proposal from Hamish (Leo Bill), the son of one of her father’s business partners. However, Alice soon grows distracted seeing a rabbit with a waistcoat nearby, and rushes after the strange creature.
Following it, she finds her way to the trunk of an old tree some ways off, and falls down a hole. The hole leads her to a strange room, of which she finds a key, as well as a drink that makes her smaller, and a cake that increases her size. After getting the key and shrinking down to use a small door, she soon finds herself in an enormous garden area.
Soon after, she comes across the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), as well as the Dormouse (Barbara Windsor), a Dodo bird (Michael Gough), and the Tweedles (Matt Lucas). The White Rabbit explains that is sure he has found the right Alice this time, while the Dormouse believes he is mistaken. Alice explains that her name is Alice, but feels they are looking for another “Alice.” They take her to Abosolom the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman), who consults a scroll, which contains details regarding the history of Wonderland, from it’s birth onward. The scroll claims that on the Frabjous Day, Alice will return to slay the Jabberwocky. Alice sees this, and adamants that she is not the person in the scroll, when a commotion breaks out, and the Knave of Hearts (Crispin Glover) appears, along with some red-carded soldiers and a creature called a Bandersnatch. Everyone scatters, as the Knave takes the scroll, and captures the Dodo bird. Alice, when confronted with the Bandersnatch, stands her ground, convinced that it is just a dream. However, the creature scratches her, and Alice takes off running, but not before the Dormouse plucks out one of the creature’s eyes.
Some ways off, Alice encounters the Tweedles again, who attempt to help her, but are soon captured by a giant bird that takes them to the Red Queen’s castle. At the castle, the Knave of Hearts informs the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) about the scroll, and the prophecy of Alice killing the Jabberwocky (of which she possesses). The Red Queen orders Alice to be found, and the Knave utilizes a bloodhound named Bayard (Timothy Spall) to track her down, promising freedom for Bayard’s wife and pups (a lie, meant as a way to get the dog to help the Red Queen).
Meanwhile, Alice encounters the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), who leads her to the Mad Hatter’s place, where she encounters the Dormouse again, as well as the March Hare (Paul Whitehouse). The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is pleased to see Alice, and is in rapture over the coming Frabjous day in which she will slay the Jabberwocky. Alice again insists she is not ‘that Alice,’ when the Knave of Hearts and Bayard close in. The Hatter stuffs Alice into a teapot, to hide her from the Knave. In secret, the Dormouse scolds the dog for bringing the Knave there, but Bayard explains why he came. He then attempts to lead the Knave off in a different direction.
After they have left, the Hatter walks Alice through the nearby woods, where they come across the burned ruins of a small village. The Hatter then explains to Alice about how in the time she was gone, the Red Queen has taken over Wonderland, banishing the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) to her own domain, and taking her vorpal sword.
As they talk, the Knave again approaches, and the Hatter places Alice on his hat, and flings it across a river, giving himself up to the Knave, who takes him to the Red Queen. Later on, Bayard finds the hat and Alice. Alice manages to convince Bayard to take her to the Red Queen’s castle, to rescue the Hatter. Along with the hat, they find their way there, where Alice encounters the White Rabbit assisting with a game of croquet with the Red Queen. Alice requests to be made larger (she is still the size of a gerbil), and the rabbit gives her a cake. However, she eats too much and ends up almost 10 feet tall, disrupting the croquet game. The Queen does not recognize Alice, who says she is ‘Um’ from Umbridge, and wishes to help the Queen. The Queen, impressed by the size of Alice’s head, declares her to be made part of her royal court.
The Hatter is brought before the Queen and Alice, and is at first intended to be beheaded. However, the Hatter manages to stall for time, by requesting that he make the Queen a hat for her enormous head. Flattered by the attention, she gives into this request. Alice soon after finds out that the vorpal sword is on the grounds of the castle, but is locked away in a chest in the quarters of the Bandersnatch. After procuring the plucked eye from the Dormouse (who has broken into the castle to free the Hatter), Alice manages to return the eye to the creature. This allows her to gain access to the sword. Alice goes to the Hatter’s room, and finds the Dormouse there. However, the Knave of Hearts shows up shortly, and when the Dormouse lets slip Alice’s true name, he attempts to kill her. Alice manages to escape into the courtyard, where the Bandersnatch helps her escape from the castle. Bayard also accompanies her, as they head for the White Queen’s castle.
The Red Queen then orders that the Hatter and the Dormouse be executed the next day. However, the Cheshire Cat uses his trickery to take on the guise of the Hatter, and allows the Hatter, Dormouse, the White Rabbit, the Tweedles, and Bayard’s family to escape. They all soon meet up at the White Queen’s castle, where the Queen has used her potions knowledge to shrink Alice to normal size.
The next day then dawns…the Frabjous day. Almost everyone is willing to take up arms for the White Queen. However, she hopes that Alice will fulfill the prophecy, but Alice rushes off to the Queen’s garden, still upset over everyone pushing her into this task. It is there she encounters Absolom, cocooning himself. It is here that Absolom explains to Alice how she had been to Wonderland before, and suddenly, it all comes back to her, that what she thought originally was a dream was real. After her revelation, Alice dons the armor prepared for her by the White Queen, and takes up the vorpal sword.
Both the White Queen and the Red Queen meet on a checkerboard field. Both Queens meet first, with the White Queen asking her sister to not do battle, but the Red Queen refuses to give into the pacification of her sister’s plea. The White Queen brings forth Alice as their ‘champion,’ as the Red Queen’ summons the Jabberwocky. As Alice faces off with the creature, the rest of the armies go to war. Alice plays a mind-game with herself, talking of 6 impossible things, as it is claimed her father would do before breakfast. In her mind-game, she manages to find the strength to slay the Jabberwocky. The Red Queen demands that her subjects kill Alice, but as the White Queen’s champion has slayed that of the Red Queen, the Red Queen’s subjects will no longer follow her commands.
The White Queen orders the Red Queen banished to the Outlands, for the crimes that she has committed (due to a the White Queen’s vow not to harm a living creature, she will not kill her sister), with noone to offer her sympathy. The Knave of Hearts is also chained to her, as punishment as well. However, the thought of being alone with the Queen causes him to try to kill her, before his dagger is taken from him by the Hatter.
After the Red Queen and the Knave are taken away, the White Queen’s army rejoices, with the Hatter doing a Fudderwupping dance, much to the delight of everyone. The White Queen then collects some of the Jabberwocky’s blood, and gives it to Alice. The blood of the Jabberwocky allows Alice to return to her world, and she returns to the Garden Party.
Alice then explains to Hamish that she cannot accept his proposal, as well as speaks her mind to a number of different relatives and acquaintances. Her forthright attitude catches the eye of Hamish’s father, and soon, the two discuss plans to expand the shipping routes to China, a land that has not yet been opened to the west.
Alice is then made an apprentice to the company, and sets off with a crew to open the shipping route to China, aboard a ship titled “Wonder”. The last thing shown is a bright blue butterfly, none other than Abosolom.

Top 10 Romantic Comedies
from both domestic and international sources. How many have you seen?
Romantic comedy movies are a sub-group of romantic movies and are notable for being light-hearted and having plots that are often humorous. The path of true love may be thwarted, temporarily, by errors, accidents and coincidences, or by differences in social standing. 'Notting Hill' and 'Pretty Woman' are examples of romantic comedies.
The romantic comedies are contrasted with romantic drama, a further sub-group of romance films in which the main premise of the movie is concerned with the romantic attraction between the leading characters but not in a funny or humorous way. The attraction often causes them to struggle with significant questions about their lives, such as "should I remain with my current partner?" and "what am I doing with my life?" Dramatic impact is created by the emotional expression of those involved. 'Titanic' and 'The Notebook' are examples of romantic drama.
The listing below differs slightly from those top domestic earners as some which did well at home performed poorly at theaters in other countries. Others boosted their earnings considerably in the overseas market and greatly improved their ranking.
For instance, Pretty Woman, whilst 4th in domestic earnings, at $178 million, also pulled in a whopping $285 million in the foreign market to grab the top spot overall.
The Top 10 Romantic Comedies - based on gross earnings (U.S. domestic + international):
1. Pretty Woman (1990) - $463 million
2. Sex And The City (2008) - $415 m
3. What Women Want ((2000) - $374 m
4 There's Something About Mary ((1998) - $370 m
5. My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) - $369 m
6. Hitch (2005) - $368 m
7. Notting Hill (1999) - $364 m
8. The Proposal (2009) - $315 m
9. Runaway Bride (1999) - $309 m
10. My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) - $299 m
The queen of romantic comedies is clearly Julia Roberts. She starred in four of the top 10 movies listed above - Pretty Woman (1990), Notting Hill (1999), Runaway Bride (1999) and My Best Friend's Wedding (1997). The 90s were clearly good for her. Cameron Diaz managed to star in two - There's Something About Mary (1998) and My Best Friend's Wedding (1997).
A high production budget is clearly not a guarantee of success, nor is it a good indicator as Pretty Woman had a budget of only $14 million - Julia Roberts was relatively unknown at the time and her fee for that movie was only $300,000, being mainly known for her role in Steel Magnolias (1989). She was not the first choice for the lead in Pretty Woman, gaining the role only after a number of other, better known, actresses had turned it down as 'too sexist' or 'degrading to women'.
Another movie which far surpassed expectations was My Big, Fat Greek Wedding (2002). It had a budget of only $5 million and earned $241 million at the U.S. box office alone (far surpassing Pretty Woman on $178 million), more than any other romantic comedy. It also earned a respectable $127 million in overseas sales. While not as successful internationally as Pretty Woman (which managed $285 million), it allowed MBFGW to secure the number 5 spot for a modest outlay.
Overseas sales were also extremely important for Notting Hill (with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts) as it earned 'only' $116 on the U.S. domestic market but more than double that ($248 million) internationally to leap up to 7th place.

Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating — or indoctrinating — citizens. The visual elements of cinema give motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue.
Films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.
The origin of the name "film" comes from the fact that photographic film (also called film stock) has historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, moving picture, photo-play and flick. A common name for film in the United States is movie, while in Europe the term cinema is preferred. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema and the movies.
Preceding film by thousands of years, plays and dances had elements common to film: scripts, sets, costumes, production, direction, actors, audiences, storyboards, and scores. Much terminology later used in film theory and criticism applied, such as mise en scene (roughly, the entire visual picture at any one time). Moving visual and aural images were not recorded for replaying as in film.
The camera obscura was pioneered by Alhazen in his Book of Optics (1021),[1][2][3] and later near the year 1600, it was perfected by Giambattista della Porta. Light is inverted through a small hole or lens from outside, and projected onto a surface or screen, creating a moving image, but it is not preserved in a recording.
In the 1860s, mechanisms for producing two-dimensional drawings in motion were demonstrated with devices such as the zoetrope, mutoscope and praxinoscope. These machines were outgrowths of simple optical devices (such as magic lanterns) and would display sequences of still pictures at sufficient speed for the images on the pictures to appear to be moving, a phenomenon called persistence of vision. Naturally the images needed to be carefully designed to achieve the desired effect, and the underlying principle became the basis for the development of film animation.
With the development of celluloid film for still photography, it became possible to directly capture objects in motion in real time. An 1878 experiment by Eadweard Muybridge in the United States using 24 cameras produced a series of stereoscopic images of a galloping horse, arguably the first "motion picture," though it was not called by this name. This technology required a person to look into a viewing machine to see the pictures which were separate paper prints attached to a drum turned by a handcrank. The pictures were shown at a variable speed of about 5 to 10 pictures per second, depending on how rapidly the crank was turned. Commercial versions of these machines were coin operated.

My Bloody Valentine On Dish Network Pay Per View
I saw this flick when it was released back in January, and it was a passable horror flick (and I’m a huge horror fan so my standards are high.) The movie is available now on Dish Network Pay-Per-View and it’s a 24 hour rental, though most likely you’re not going to watch this more than once. It’s also available in 1080P, so if you have a high-definition TV, and a Dish HD receiver or Plus HD DVR receiver, make sure to watch this in all it’s hi-def glory. The movie is a remake of the Canadian slasher import from 1981.
The original has become somewhat of a cult hit over the years, despite being chopped and edited heavily by the MPAA. It is considered today to be one of the horror classics (maybe not so much so as Halloween, for example, but it’s still on a few lists). The new film begins with a cave-in at a mine that leaves six miners trapped. One of the miners, a man by the name of Harry Warden, survives by killing the other five with a pickaxe, and when rescue crews find him he tries to escape and is injured.
As a result, Harry Warden goes into a coma. Tom Hanniger, the son of the mine owner, is deemed responsible for the cave-in because he forgot to vent the methane lines. We then jump to the following year on Valentine’s Day, when Harry Warden wakes up from his coma and goes on a killing spree. He spares young Tom’s life, and Tom leaves town as a result. Ten years later, Tom returns to town after his father dies and he inherits the mine. He hopes to sell the mine, though the townspeople do not appreciate his decision and incidentally blame him for all the deaths that occurred years earlier.
Not long after Tom has returned, the killings start up again and bodies are piling up. We begin to see that Tom is slowly losing his mind, but is he the killer? Or could the killer be the husband of Tom’s ex-girlfriend Sarah, who is also the town sheriff? Or is Harry Warden, believed to be dead, back from the grave? Jensen Ackles plays Tom, and he gave a ho-hum performance, which, until the end of the movie, left a lot to be desired. I understand Ackles is a big hit on his CW show “Supernatural,” but as actor he’s nothing to write home about. He’s kind of bland, and maybe that’s what he was going for here, but I wasn’t impressed.
His “Supernatural” costar Jared Padalecki fared so much better in the Friday the 13th remake that was released a month after this. Jaime King played Tom’s old girlfriend, and Kerr Smith played the other man of the side of the love triangle – Sarah’s husband Axel. Smith has been around for a while, and back in 2000 he acted in the first of one of my favorite horror series, Final Destination (coincidentally, the fourth Destination movie gets released August 28th, and I couldn’t be more excited about that!) The highlight of this movie was easily Betsy Rue. Playing the requisite doomed blonde, Rue only has about two scenes but she definitely makes her time in the movie memorable. She is completely nude for about 10 minutes straight – running from the killer, fighting off the killer, etc.
It was completely over-the-top and hilarious and one can only imagine how comfortable Rue must be as an actress to have agreed to this. She obviously doesn’t take herself too seriously and went for broke and it worked here. Brava to her. Overall, My Bloody Valentine was a fun but slightly forgettable exercise in slasher fare. Compared to all the “torture porn” in horror we have been subjected to the last several years (take the Saw and Hostel series for example, which I despise), it is nice to see horror getting back to its fun, slasher routes. And before you ask how a slasher can be fun, I will tell you this - as a horror movie buff, I do NOT find it entertaining to watch somebody slowly be disemboweled for an hour. I much prefer horror movies in the vein of Scream and Final Destination, which poke fun at themselves as well as being thrilling. As long as we get more of those I’ll be a happy camper (though I’m not planning to set up camp at Crystal Lake anytime soon, I’ve seen enough Friday the 13th movies to know better).

Tintin Movie
Herge believed that Spielberg was the only one in Hollywood who could do his comic hero justice on the big screen. Spielberg though never was able to commit totally to the project because he believed that he would never be capable enough to translate the ligne claire style of action adventure books to the big screen with the technology available. It is only no with Peter Jackson on board who using his Weta workshop that the Belgium boy detective can now come to life.
The big question and one that has Tintin forums are in a tizzy is the question if who will play the lead? Is it going to be an unknown such as Kristen Myburgh (has been one named linked) who may like Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter go on to become a household name. Well the newest name liked is a more established actor and British cinematic hero Simon Pegg. Simon Pegg first came to the attention of British People in his self-penned TV series Spaced that became a cult hit. Along with his team of Nick Frost (Co-star) and Edgar Wright (Director) he went onto make the hugely successful Shaun of the Dead (2004) which along with Hot Fuzz (2007) brought him to the attention of Hollywood. He has made several films this year including his first role as lead in a film that he hasn’t written called Run, Fat Boy, Run (directed by David Schwimmer) and he also pops up in Grindhouse too. The role of Tintin will be huge and will take up a lot of time for which ever actor accepts the lead with the films being shot back to back as Lord of the Rings was.
It may not suit Simon Pegg who is always inventive and throwing himself into new projects. Simon though is a known comic book fan and has admitted to loving Tintin in several interviews that has only fuelled the debate. The question though is whether he has the right look for the film. This maybe not as much of problem as previously thought. Simon Pegg maybe older that Tintin (Estimated to be in his late teens) but the technique that will be used in the films is similar to those used to bring Gollum to life in Lord of the Rings. The character Gollum was created by Weta using motion capture techniques on actor Andy Serkis then using key frame animation and subsurface scattering rendering techniques enabled the first completely convincing portrayal of an animated humanoid in a feature film. This technology would make it easy for Simon Pegg to play Tintin. The debate is set to rage on and with the first film not scheduled to be finished in production till 2009 there will not be any answer soon.

Ipod Movies
Have you ever asked: Where can I download free iPod Movies?
Are you searching for a website where you can download free iPod movies? We get many people asking how can I download iPod Movies for FREE?
iTunes is still a very expensive website to purchase iPod movies from. $14.99 for a movie download is not a good value at all. Especially when you can purchase the DVD for about $9.99. By selling downloads, iTunes has virtually no product expense. They do not have to pay to manufacture a DVD or DVD Case. Nor do they have to ship it to stores for retail sales. Sure they may have to pay for servers and bandwidth but that is a far cry from the cost of manufacturing a DVD and shipping it to a retail store.
No wonder so many people are searching for free iPod movies nowadays. If iTunes would make the price more reasonable then perhaps people would be willing to pay a small free for these iPod movies instead of searching for websites that offer free iPod Movie Downloads!
Why you should avoid websites that offer free iPod movies
There are many websites out there today that claim to offer free iPod movies to download but in reality when you get to their website you are redirected to a checkout page where you are required to sign up for a membership and pay a membership fee in order to download free iPod movies for your iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch
(iTouch). This is the old switch and bait method of promising something and when you get there you realize that it is not at all what you though you were getting. These websites that offer free iPod movies prey on naive web browsers that are no educated on how file sharing actually works. Most of these websites that offer you a venue to download free iPod movies are actually trying to sell you software that allows you to connect to other web browsers' computers and download "shared" files from their computer. When you are done downloading the movie then it becomes available for other web browsers to download from your computer to other people who have pay a fee to these sites to download "FREE iPod Movies." Moreover, these free iPod movies take up to 3 days to download!
If you have fallen prey to one of these websites do not feel bad. Many people have. They are very good at misleading users into believing that they are getting free iPod movies. Most of the time you can just contact your credit card company and dispute the charges and you will receive a full refund for your membership fee that you were tricked into paying.
Free iPod Movies are not secure or safe
The main reason someone should not download from a website that claims to have free iPod movie downloads is because it is a major risk of security to your computer and to your identity. With al the identity theft there is today hackers make a good living at selling information that they obtain from web browsers by hiding malicious scripts in files and then offering these files to be downloaded for free. A web browser thinks that they hit the jackpot and found a great site where they can download free iPod movies but in reality they are downloading infested software that contains a small script which allows the person offering the free iPod movie download to spy on the computer users activities. If you log in to a secure web site, such as your bank account or Paypal account, they will see it all and will be privy to your user name and passwords along with other pertinent detail used to steal your identity.
There are many different scripts that a person offering free downloads can implement. It can be something as installing a virus on your hard drive that create havoc for you, but is no harmful for a long term and is something can can eventually be repaired after paying a computer store hundreds of dollars to restore your system and files contained on your hard drive. Or, it can be more criminal, by stealing your identity which is virtually unrepairable.
So, in sum, download free iPod movies can be very expensive. Sure there are anti-virus software programs that you can run but I find that the hackers are always one step ahead of the people trying to stop them!

Pixar Movies
This was revolutionary as formerly this, animated films had been give drawn and using computers ushered in a brand new era of skill in movie-making. This brand new skill was able to attempt somewhere animation on no account might formerly. For the number one moment in time yet, after animating an innate, you might guarantee all stirring facial hair on the innate, making it look more realistic but still cartoon-like.
Pixar animation plus has the lead of giving its animated lettering more emotions and realistic tick. Using computers to record prevented how the voice actor is really speaking the ranks, in its place of in a minute recording the voice, these facial expressions can be transferred to the CGI lettering. Gives them a more expressive deportment and this makes them seem more realistic.
Another utter occurrence as regards Pixar is with the purpose of they are very selective in their motion picture making. They comprise released many dumpy films but simply eight attribute time-span animated films, all of which comprise been standard by the Academy Awards either by nominations or wins. They are really sympathetic as regards come again? Stories will be up to par to translate to Pixar's CGI animation. From searching Nemo, to the newest Oscar winner, Ratatouille, you know you're getting a quality film after Pixar is behind it.
While other animation studios give birth to ongoing using CGI such as Animal Logic, which was reliable intended for Happy Feet, you know the quality of the show is a warrant with Pixar. Pixar films are all the time hilarious and heartrending and fun intended for kids as well as their parents. They are knowledgeably crafted in each way and all the time live up to the Pixar specify.
According to Pixar's chief creative policewoman, John Lasseter, the strategic to Pixar films' accomplishment might sit in their story format with the intention of by no means changes. According to him all Pixar films are roughly the core character's self restitution, and how he grows and changes. This is the rationalize why their films are so horrible intended for children. It's a fun CGI joy ride with a moral behind it.
While Pixar's films now and again create us skip the tender drawn movies of the old days, it is irrefutable with the intention of this is an extraordinary tools with the intention of is unparalleled.

Grown Ups Trailer – How Marketing Can Change A Film
The film stars, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, Kevin James, and David Spade in the sort of comedy that will probably surprise no one who has seen any of these actors before. Sony's trailer for the film makes it perfectly clear that this is a comedy starring some well-known American comedic actors, and the trailer
features prominent gags that include those actors, who are, in fact, the stars of the film.
The international trailer, however, is completely different, and could lead viewers outside the United States to think that they are going to see an entirely different film from the one shown domestically. While the trailer shows many of the same gags that are shown in the U.S. version, the foreign trailer prominently features Mexican actress Salma Hayek, who isn't even mentioned by name in the U.S. trailer. The foreign version, on the other hand, omits any mention of David Spade by name.
Why the changes? American comedies often fare poorly at the box office in foreign countries, and actors such as Adam Sandler and David Spade are not well known abroad. Salma Hayek, on the other hand, is a major international star and does have the ability to draw viewers to the theater. So Sony decided to edit the trailer to feature Hayek and give their foreign viewers the impression that the film actually stars Salma Hayek and that everyone else in the cast is merely supporting her.
It isn't all that unusual for studios to create trailers with content that differs greatly from the film they promote. The trailers for the 2004 film “Sideways” presented the film as “one of the funniest movies of the year” when it was actually a tragic drama with a few comedic scenes. The trailer featured virtually all of the comedy from the film in an attempt to draw comedy fans to the theater. Although the film was successful, countless viewers were baffled to discover that they hadn't bought tickets to see a comedy after all.
Honest trailer or not, “Grown Ups” features a proven cast with a history of selling a lot of tickets to American theatergoers. Perhaps foreign viewers, lured by the idea of a Salma Hayek comedy, will enjoy it, too.
